The Arc of the Emerald Coast provides a variety of Support Services to include Personal Supports, and Respite to recipients under 21 years of age, in the community and in their family/personal homes. Each service is unique and designed to provide people with disabilities and their families the assistance they need to live successfully in the community. Respite care provides brief relief to caregivers by providing qualified staff to care for the person with a disability either in their home or in one of our homes. Personal Support Services are designed to provide assistance with bathing, hygiene, feeding, and other basic needs, as well as assist people to participate in the various activities available in our community. An enhanced version of Personal Supports provided to Supported Living recipients is also known as
In-Home Personal Support. This matches Personal Support staff with service recipients. The purpose of In-Home Personal Support services is to augment supported living coaching service for those recipients who need more assistance to live successfully and as independently as possible in the community. Staff assist individuals to improve their daily living skills, including personal hygiene, housekeeping, cooking, and emergency support. This program’s staff is typically assigned specific days to provide service in scheduled shifts for consecutive days to include overnights and holidays.
Personal Supports are currently provided in Okaloosa and Santa Rosa Counties. For more information, please contact April Gregory (850) 863-1530 ext. 217 or ahagan@arcecfla.org
